7 TYPES OF DOG PARENTS IN LEBANON

As you walk your dog in the streets of Beirut, you have high chances to bump into these 7 types of dog parents.

1- THE KYLIE JENNER

They’re usually parents to a Chihuahua or a Bichon, breeds small enough to be carried with one hand and allow mirror selfies to be taken with the other. Based on the fitness progress witnessed by their Instagram account, these dog parents may have developed the strength to lift much heavier dogs.

2 – THE OVERFEEDING TETA

The dog’s got trouble walking and breathing but for teta, it’s just an expression of love – because hey! love equals food.

 3 – THE “RABTO 3AL BALCON”

You’ve been friends with him for years, you had no idea he had a dog. As a matter of fact, this dog parent may have forgotten about it himself.

4 – THE POOP POLICE OFFICER

Because strolling in Achrafieh can sometimes feel like walking in a minefield, some dog parents have joined the poop police forces. Always armed with plastic bags, they make sure to claim loud and clear that they are scooping after their dogs, especially around any passer-by suffering from poopaphobia.

5 – THE MANARA BULLY

If you’ve ever walked your dog in Manara, you’ve surely crossed path with this one: an oversized Pitbull or German shepherd walking a human. If you don’t recognize the dog parent, you’ll definitely recognize the dog, always ready to bite his way to overcompensate for daddy’s shortcomings.

6 – THE OVERZEALOUS RESCUER

Seems to spend her life on the highway rescuing strays. She’s all over your facebook feed promoting pictures of dogs for adoption. May be a little bit on the edge as she shares her home with about 25 with special-need dogs. If it’s  you, thank you for existing!

7 – MR. & MRS. OFF LEASH

This dog parent is very confident in his bond with his dog – no safety risk is big enough for him to put his dog on a leash. It doesn’t matter if Beirut is chaotic, full of reckless drivers and populated with lots of stray cats: this doggie will roam freely.
